Day 1: Fes – Middle Atlas Mountains - Merzouga (Camel trekking)We will pick up you at your hotel or Riad in Fes and we’ll drive southwards to Ifrane and Azrou in the Middle Atlas mountains, stopping in the cedar forest to see the Barbarian Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley to Rissani and Merzouga, the home of your guide Moha. After a glass of mint tea, you’ll be ready for your camel and guided by an experienced camel guide you’ll start your safari exploring within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Here you’ll spend your night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent. Dinner will be served in the tent where you’ll spend the night.Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades GorgeYour camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to your Riad appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here you’ll have the opportunity to hike along it’s valley. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel in the heart of the gorge.Day 3: Dades Gorge – Ait Ben Haddou – MarrakechAfter breakfast in the hotel we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Continue to Ouarzazat, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO matrimonial historical site, now a house of the Glaoui family members, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi ‘n’ tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech, where the tour ends. |

Afterwards you’ll leave for Rissani – once called Sijilmassa and the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, smelling the spices, vegetables and cloths all for local sale. After a pizza lunch in Rissani, we’ll travel back to your Riad where your camel awaits you. After a glass of mint tea, and guided by an experienced camel man, you’ll begin your camel safari exploring within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Here you will spend your night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent.
